Solar panels harness energy from the sun, which is turned into FREE electricity and fed back into the mains power grid. If your system produces more energy then what is used, you receive a cheque in the mail instead of a bill, imagine that! Generous government incentives have now made obtaining such a system much more affordable than ever!

We also specialise in sustainable hot water. Heating water alone contributes from 30 to 50% to your electricity bill! Installing a sustainable hot water system you can reduce your current running costs by up to 90% It is quick and easy to install and there are no solar panels required on your roof! Once again, utilizing the government rebates makes this system much more affordable than you may think!
You can even reduce the air-conditioning costs by painting your roof with Solacoat. This heat reflective, insulation paint reflects upto 90% of UV rays and can cool the temperature inside a building by upto 14degrees!

Solar Power
The ideal conditions for a grid connect system to be installed is on the northerly facing aspect of a roof which is pitched at an angle of 22degrees. The panels should be in full sun with over hanging trees or obstructions removed in order to maximise power output.
1kW Grid Connect Solar System installed for $1990.00* + Bonus 2kW Inverter
The Amorphous thin film panels have a power output of 42watts per panel, therefore 24 panels are required to make a 1kw (1000watt) system. These solar panels are frameless, have a dark uniform colour and appear as thin black sheets of glass. While a system using thin film panels would require a larger footprint on the roof, often people choose these panels over the mono-crystalline for the following reasons:
·         More aesthetically pleasing which renders the modules ideal for building integrated photovoltaics and other high visibility applications.
·         Better performance on partly shaded roofs as a smaller percentage of the system can be covered at a time
·         Better performance in extreme (high) temperatures due to favourable temperature coefficients
·         Less expensive to install and therefore have a shorter payback period on investment
·         Do not suffer cell interconnection failures
·         Low cost of raw material and manufacture and therefore cheaper for the customer

1kW Grid Connect Solar System Installed for $2499.00*
The mono-crystalline panels used have an output of 175Watts and therefore require only 6 panels to make a 1kW system.  The modules used are made up of 72 individual 125x125mm high efficiency mono-crystalline silicon solar cells that have been electronically matched prior to interconnection. The panel is laminated with low-iron, high transmitivity glass, EVA and TPT with and anodized aluminium alloy frame and MC junction box. The modules are designed for long service life and easy installation and can withstand hail impact and high winds. The mono-crystalline modules make highly efficient systems and are often chosen over the thin-film panels for the following reasons:
·         Require only 6 panels to make a 1kW system and therefore has a very small footprint on your roof
·         Have greater embodied energy per panel and therefore are more efficient per square meter
·         Ease of installation as there are less mounting brackets and other materials required for a smaller number of panels
·         Mono-crystalline technology is tried and tested and has been around for many more years than thin film, which is relatively new technology
* Prices are subject to rebate approval and only an estimate, based on a standard one story installation on a slightly pitched colour bond/metal roof where the positioning of electricity box is in within reasonable proximity to the system and allows for the inverter to be installed in a weatherproof position nearby. Solar Hot Water
The Green Energy Superstore stock two main types of sustainable hot water units.
Evacuated Tubes
Apricus evacuated tubes is a solar hot water system like no other. This cutting edge technology is widely used throughout the world and boasts savings of up to 90% on your hot water bill! This technology is 40% more efficient than traditional flat plate solar hot water and works in wider range of weather conditions. For a comprehensive comparison between the two technologies, click here.
·         Heats effectively in nearly all weather conditions, from hot and sunny to cloudy, and even in snow!
·         Flexible installation options- mounted on a roof, on a stand-alone pole, off a wall. Click here to view installation options.
·         Save up to 90% on your hot water bill!
·         There is only one moving part in the system- the circulation pump. Less moving parts means less power usage and a smaller chance of breakage!
·         Easily installed by a licensed plumber
·         Can be connected up to an existing gas hot water system at a lower cost than replacing electric, if you do not qualify for the $1600 solar hot water rebate.
